HELP US SAVE FREE CHECKING & DEBIT CARDS

Legislation backed by large retailers was signed into law last September.  If this law becomes effective on July 21st, it may limit our ability to offer free Visa® Debit Cards and Free Checking to our members.

New Legislation
Recently, several members of Congress introduced new legislation to stop the interchange regulation from taking effect.  The purpose of this delay is to study the potential impact on credit unions, small businesses and consumers.  As a credit union member, we are asking that you contact Congress and urge them to stop and study this costly regulation.

We Need Your Help
The process to help is simple.  We ask that you send a pre-written letter to your senators and representative in Congress by visiting the Connect for the Cause website at www.connectforthecause.org and clicking on “Take Action” under Protect Your Debit Card - Protect Your Credit Union.  Please help us save free debit cards and Free Checking at SMCU.
