At
SMCU, we strongly believe that everyone has the right to keep their
information private. That's why SMCU never sells our members' personal
data to third parties, nor do we sell our member lists to catalogs,
direct mail companies, magazines, or other non-financial service providers.

SMCU encourages you to take part in protecting your financial
privacy. We offer the following guidelines to help keep your personal
information confidential:
 |
Be careful not to give account information over
the phone to people claiming to represent
SMCU. If you have any concerns, ask for the caller's name and
phone number, so you can
call back to confirm association with SMCU. As an added measure,
call DirectAssist at
(650) 363-1725 to confirm the call. |
|
 |
Do not share financial information with any merchants
unless you are making a purchase
or entering into an agreement with them that involves your money
or your account.
|
|
 |
Make sure that SMCU has current information on you
— such as address, phone numbers,
and e-mail — so we can easily contact you if we detect potentially
fraudulent activity on
any of your accounts. |
|
 |
Never divulge your personal identification number
(PIN) to anyone. Don't write it down in an
obvious place or carry it in your wallet. The safest thing to
do is pick a PIN that's easy for
you to remember but difficult for someone else to figure out. |
|
 |
If you lose or misplace your credit card, debit
card, or checks, inform SMCU at once. |
|
 |
If you wish to stop receiving unsolicited credit
cards offers in the mail, call the Credit Reporting
Industry pre-screening opt-out toll-free number at (888) 567-8688
and follow the recorded prompts. |
|
If you have any questions about your privacy with SMCU,
please call DirectAssist at (650) 363-1725, and we will be happy to
help you.
